It’s that time of year again. Time to pull out the snowboards and skis and hit the slopes. Opening weekend at Durango Mountain Resort at Purgatory was one to remember. A big storm dropped 44 inches allowing the entire front side to be open. Talking with one old timer on the lift that had skied every opening weekend since 1966 said this was the 2nd best. He told me that in 1986 Purg opened with 52 inches. With another storm that just blew in, here’s to a great snowboard season.
