I was able to get a high country ride in this weekend with some bros. We started at the top of Molas Pass, 10,900 feet, and jumped on the Colorado Trail, taking that to the Engineer Mountain Trail. We ran into a few other Durangotangs on the trail as well and rode with them a bit. All told we rode 25 miles and climbed 3,300 feet. It was a cold, foggy day that saw rain, hail, and a little sun. I’m trying to do more rides in the high country in anticipation of possibly getting a permit in the future to guide up there. We’ll see.
